Speaker Bios:
Travis Martin, Outreach Coordinator, APEGA
Travis Martin is an Outreach Coordinator with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA), promoting engineering and geoscience to students all across southern Alberta. Alongside encouraging diversity, innovation, and creativity within the professions, Travis works to administer and enhance APEGA’s product services, including its member benefits, salary survey, and brand new job board. Having graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Calgary, Travis enjoys reading about entrepreneurs and modern-day innovators in his spare time.

Edmundo Cardenas, CHRP
Edmundo has more than 15 years of experience in the field of human resources. He has worked as an HR Advisor in Oil and Gas sector, International Consulting firm and Academic Institution. Specifically in Alberta, he had worked with a major operator, a maintenance and turnaround contractor and last job with an international EPC company. Edmundo has been a member of the Human Resources Association of Calgary (HRAC), Human Resources Institute of Alberta (HRIA). He has also served as a volunteer on the Professional Development Committee (HRAC), Editorial Committee (HRIA), Undergraduate Resume Review HRIA – University of Calgary and Special Projects with Canada’s Sport Hall of Fame. He holds a Bachelor of Human Resources and Industrial Relations and a Master in Business Administration (with a concentration in Organizations) from IESA School of Business. Received a Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation in 2014. As part of his CHRP re-certification process with HRIA he currently pursue a Mentoring Program in a Mentor and Mentee capacity. In February 2016 he joined non-for-profit organization Calgary Region Immigrant Employment Council (CRIEC) in order to be part of the Mentoring Program. He has been member of few Toastmaster groups and he is also passionate about Swimming and recently joined the University of Calgary Master Swimming Team.

Darcy W. Spady, P.Eng., Regional Director, SPE Canada
Darcy Spady is the Managing Director of Broadview Energy Asset Management, a subsidiary of an independent oil and gas producer in Alberta and Saskatchewan, Canada. He also sits on the International Board of SPE (Society of Petroleum Engineers) as Regional Director for Canada, and Chairs the board of Green Imaging Technologies and is a member of TSX.V listed MNP Petroleum.
Prior to this he has held executive positions as Director of Client Solutions for Sanjel Canada,  Managing Director of Saint Brendan’s Exploration (Canada) and Carina Natural Resources (Romania), CEO of Contact Exploration (Canada), COO of PetroGlobe Inc.(Canada), Director of Triana Energy (USA), General Manager of Columbia Natural Resources Canada,  and a decade with the Schlumberger organization – both in the wireline and pressure pumping divisions. Mr. Spady holds a BSc. in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Alberta and is a P.Eng. in the Provinces of Alberta and New Brunswick.

Sam Ramadan, Business Analyst
Sam Ramadan is a Senior Business Analyst with over 30 years’ experience in Oil and Gas. Sam is skilled at working with a large cross section of Oil and Gas companies and related disciplines including Engineering, IT, A&D, Accounting, Land, Exploration, executive management levels and external stakeholders. Sam liaised and worked with software vendors such as Merak Schlumberger, IHS, Landmark, Energy Navigator and more. Sam is an expert at both Canadian and US Oil & Gas economic and reserve evaluations.
