In last few days, I have read several reports/messages/emails about the COVID-19. I do understand that the number of cases are spreading at an exponential rate and the situation is getting serious day by day. In this context, it is important to be vigilant and aware of the preventive measures to fight with this pandemic. However, there is a thin line between vigilant and stress and we should make sure that we are staying in the right side of that thin line.
For some it’s “fun” while others find it “intimidating” and “awkward”. It’s “people” and “perspective”. It’s “a challenge for an extrovert with low social skills”. It sometimes feels like, “oh my god I have to talk to strangers”. But it might also be the “most important soft skill they don’t teach you”.
“I thought I am well prepared for setting up my own consulting firm, but actually I wasn’t. People learn from experiences and so do I.”
In this profile, we highlight previous MentorUP volunteer Moe Ilmi. The desired position is to be in Project Management, Human Resources in Humanitarian Sector. He was involved with MentorUP since 2015, initially as Team Lead of our MentorU Program and lastly as cochair of MentorUP.
Setting up your goals can make you feel energized especially when you are moving into the career path of your own interest. However, the power of perspectives should not be inflated.
